Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How can academics be balanced with full-time athletic training?
Academic classes will be done in between their morning and late afternoon training with much consideration to having enough rest in between. The Raya School has developed the curriculum in such a way that individually-paced lessons are possible through online learning and one-on-one tutorial sessions at night. Saturdays are also available for academic work. It is at the core missions of Inspire Raya that its students must also excel in academics and not just in their chosen sport.
Q. How many students can the school accommodate?
For the first year, thirty Grade 11 students. In succeeding years, two sections of Grade 11 and Grade 12 with 30 students each for a total student population of 120. Aptitude and skills screening will be the basis for accepting students.
The hope of Inspire Raya is that in 5 years, we will also open our doors to Junior High School students (Grades 7-10) and start sports training at an even earlier age. This will put us at par with developed countries in terms of their national athletes’ development programs.
Q. What other facilities does the school have?
For academics, the school has access to a library, science laboratories and computer labs at the adjacent Henry Sy Hall of NU Laguna. For athletics, the students will have the privilege of accessing the in-house Michael Johnson Performance Institute, the Asian Hospital Sports Rehabilitation Center and Nutrition Counselling. The students are also encouraged to stay in the Inspire Dormitory which is inside the Campus.
Q. What sports are offered in Inspire Raya?
Boys’ basketball and girls’ football/futsal are the current team sports offered. Slots for individual sports like golf and triathlon are also available. Finally, in 2021 we will also open our doors to swimmers and tennis players once the Olympic-size pool and tennis courts of Inspire are completed.
Q. Are there scholarships available for students?
